Where do we park?
At Tom McCall Upper Elementary School’s East Building ~ we will have volunteers to direct you. If parking becomes full, there is optional parking across the street (Hwy 47) at Westside Christian Church or on Goff Road behind the school. Please use the designated crosswalk to get across Gales Creek Hwy. Safety first!
Can kids participate in the 5k?
Absolutely! We do ask that all runners under the age of 12 years old be with an adult.
Can I volunteer?
Absolutely! We are always looking for volunteers! Please select the VOLUNTEER tab at runsignup.com. We have a breakdown of all the different areas where help is needed for ~100 volunteers (shirts limited). You may also want to join our Facebook Page and e-mail list so you’ll know when new opportunities come up.
What about bringing my dog?
NO. While we love four-legged, furry friends, our events permit does not allow them to participate, attend or spectate which includes the Community Fair. Sorry! Only service/therapy dogs will be allowed to attend.
Are strollers/joggers allowed?
Yes, we ask that you start at the end of the pack and stay to the edge of the road.
Can I wear my headphones/earbuds?
We believe your race experience and those around you will be greatly enhanced by leaving the headphones/earbuds at home or in your car. Running headphone-free allows opportunities to develop camaraderie with your fellow runners and to enjoy everything the race has to offer. Plus, volunteers and spectators will be on the course cheering you on to the finish line and you don’t want to miss that!
Where will the route take us?
The starting line is between the parking lots of Tom McCall Upper Elementary School’s East and West buildings ~ just look for the rainbow and the crowd! The run course goes West down S.W. Ritchey Road to S.W. Stringtown Road where you will turn around and head back to the finish line.
Should I bring some cash?
You bet! We will have tasty food and drinks available for purchase! Plus, we will have our Love Rocks Shop open with lots of event swag. This is mainly a 'cash only' event, however, some vendors will be able to take cards.
Is there a team or group racing option?
YES! We encourage you to grab a few friends to join your team. You can add as many people as you like to your team for a discounted registration price (6 or more registrants to qualify for discount pricing). Just sign up, create a super groovy team name and strong-arm your buddies into it later!
What happens if I can't make it to the event?
Please send us a message and let us know. Unfortunately, we do not issue refunds but we will work with you to make sure you get your run t-shirt and packet of goodies.
Can I have a booth at the Community Fair?
The Love Rocks Community Fair is a celebration of local non-profits that serve our community. For more information on how to be involved go to the Community Fair tab here.
Can we wear costumes?
Absolutely! Just make sure it is safe for you to run/walk in and family friendly.
Will this race be professionally photographed?
YES! We are grateful that Skipping Stone Photography will be capturing the event again this year! If you see one of our photographers grab your friends and have them take a photo. We do not guarantee that everyone participating will be photographed. Photos will be posted by mid-July.
